PSA flight lands safely in Charlotte after warning

A PSA Airlines flight landed safely at Charlotte Douglas International Airport after the pilot was alerted by a warning light.

   Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said Wednesday that the flight with 58 passengers onboard was bound to Charlotte from Birmingham, Ala., when the pilot reported a "flight control failure" around 12:41 p.m. Bergen said the warning light meant the Canadair Regional Jet's spoilers didn't deploy.

   Bergen said the pilot requested no special handling from air traffic control either before or after landing, and landed safely.

   Once the aircraft landed, Bergen said aircraft maintenance personnel performed a system reset, which indicated it was normal.

The flight continued to Lehigh Valley Airport in Pennsylvania.
