'Fool's Gold' (PG-13): Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson are sharing the screen again four years after the huge success of the romantic comedy "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days."But with "Fool's Gold" -- a romantic comedy adventure where a pair of divorced deep-sea diving treasure seekers see a legendary ship of riches -- their shine has been tarnished substantially.McConaughey is Ben "Finn" Finnegan a modern-day treasure hunter obsessed with finding the legendary 18th century Queen's Dowry: 40 chests of priceless treasure that was lost at sea in 1715. The problem is, Finn is so confident that he'll find his riches that he's lost sight of his marriage to Tess (Hudson).Although they've just finalized their divorce, fate can't keep them apart however, when Finn ends up on a yacht occupied by a billionaire, Nigel (Donald Sutherland), his celebutante daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena) and Tess -- who happens to be a crewmember.Convincing the billionaire that they have a shot at finding the treasure, Nigel provides the financial means to his newfound friend and civilized cooperation from his ex-wife. The problem is, Finn's mentor (Ray Winstone) and a dangerous former financial backer (Kevin Hart) want to sink the adventurers dreams of treasure and keep it for themselves. While there's still a charming bit of chemistry between McConaughey and Hudson, it's not enough to save "Fool's Gold" from its waterlogged script. The comedy feels forced and the action is silly, with maybe the exception of a thrilling plane-in-peril scene near the end of the film.Sutherland turns in a solid, but average performance as Nigel and Dziena makes the most out of her ditzy celebrity role.DVD Features: "Flirting with Adventure" production featurette, gag reel and more.
