NCAA Game Summary - Northern Colorado At Montana State

(Sports Network) - Devon Beitzel scored 17 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Northern Colorado Bears posted a 91-79 win over the Montana State Bobcats in Big Sky Conference action at Worthington Arena.

Neal Kingman added 16 points for the Bears (13-16, 6-10 Big Sky) as they closed out the regular season with two wins in the last three outings. Jabril Banks added 15 points and Jefferson Mason 11.

The Bobcats (15-14, 7-9), losers of four straight to close out the regular season, were paced by Casey Durham with 17 points and Carlos Taylor with 16 before fouling out. Reserves Bobby Howard, Mecklen Davis and Branden Johnson all added 10 points in the setback as well.

UNC converted a sizzling 60 percent from the field in the first half and also knocked down 13-of-17 at the free-throw line, yet led by just three points at the break, 39-36.

In the second half the Bears shot even better from the floor at 70 percent and again shot well at the charity stripe (22-of-27), en route to the 12-point road win.

Offsetting 22 turnovers on the night, the Bears outscored Montana State at the free-throw line, 35-17.

Hasheem Thabeet scored 21 points, hauled in 18 rebounds and had four blocks to help the No. 2 Connecticut Huskies fend off the Buffalo Bulls, 68-64, at Alumni Arena. Jeff Adrien poured in 18 points, grabbed seven boards and doled out four assists for the Huskies (8-0), who will next play Stony Brook at home on December 15. Craig Austrie chipped in 10 points in the win. Rodney Pierce had a game-high 28 points for the Bulls (3-3), who will host Florida International on Saturday. Max Boudreau was the only other Bull in double figures, with 10 points.
