Richmond, VA -- (Sports Network) - David Schneider scored 20 points to lead William & Mary over Georgia State, 58-57, in the first round of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament at Richmond Coliseum. Danny Sumner added 17 points for the fifth-seeded Tribe (15-15), who snapped a three- game losing streak and advance to play fourth-seeded Old Dominion Saturday afternoon. Leonard Mendez had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Panthers (9-21), who finished their season with two straight losses. Deven Dickerson finished with 10 points and seven boards for Georgia State. The Panthers held the Tribe to 31.8 percent shooting on their way to a 31-25 halftime lead. William & Mary, though, found its touch in the second half shooting 50 percent. Georgia State outrebounded William & Mary 37-27 but committed 14 turnovers while forcing only nine.
