NCAA Game Summary - Missouri State Vs. Illinois State

(Sports Network) - Boo Richardson's 14 points led the second- seeded Illinois State Redbirds to a 63-58 victory over the seventh-seeded Missouri State Bears in quarterfinal-round action at the Scottrade Center.

Osiris Eldridge added 13 points and seven rebounds for Illinois State (23-8), which will now face the sixth-seeded Northern Iowa Panthers in the semifinal round on Saturday. Emmanuel Holloway contributed 11 points, while Brandon Sampay tallied 10 points off the bench.

Deven Mitchell netted 18 points for Missouri State (17-16), while Dale Lamberth also chipped in 18 points in the losing effort.

Illinois State went into the break down 31-30, despite shooting 46.2 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

In the second stanza, the Redbirds limited Missouri State to a 34.5 percent shooting effort from the field en route to the five-point win.

Illinois State made 8-of-23 shots from long range, while Missouri State connected on only 5-of-22 attempts from behind the arc.

Hasheem Thabeet scored 21 points, hauled in 18 rebounds and had four blocks to help the No. 2 Connecticut Huskies fend off the Buffalo Bulls, 68-64, at Alumni Arena. Jeff Adrien poured in 18 points, grabbed seven boards and doled out four assists for the Huskies (8-0), who will next play Stony Brook at home on December 15. Craig Austrie chipped in 10 points in the win. Rodney Pierce had a game-high 28 points for the Bulls (3-3), who will host Florida International on Saturday. Max Boudreau was the only other Bull in double figures, with 10 points.
