NCAA Game Summary - Loyola Marymount Vs. San Francisco

San Diego, CA -- (Sports Network) - In opening round action of the West Coast Conference Tournament at the Jenny Craig Pavilion, the San Francisco Dons trounced the Loyola Marymount Lions, 79-60, as Dior Lowhorn and Manny Quezada combined for 50 points for the victors. Lowhorn recorded game-highs of 26 points and nine rebounds, while Quezada contributed 24 points and five assists for San Fran (10-20), who is the fifth- seed in the tournament. Vince Polakovich also chipped in 11 points to the winning cause. The eighth-seeded Lions (5-26) were led by Orlando Johnson's 19 points and five rebounds. Shawn Deadwiler chipped in 13 points, and Tim Diederichs wound up with 10 points in a losing effort. Loyola Marymount popped in six three-pointers in the first half and trailed just 34-31 at the break. The Lions' defense couldn't contain the Dons in the final period, as San Fran connected on 16-of-26 from the floor and cruised to the 19-point lopsided win. The rebounding edge belonged to the Dons (39-34), as San Fran now takes on fourth-seeded Santa Clara tomorrow night in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament.
