NCAA Game Summary - James Madison Vs. Northeastern

(Sports Network) - Matt Janning led five Huskies in double- figures, as the guard's 13 points propelled Northeastern to a convincing, 73-55 victory over the James Madison Dukes in first round action of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament.

Manny Adako added 12 points for the sixth-seeded Huskies (14-16), while Chaisson Allen tallied 11 points in the win. Eugene Spates and Baptiste Bataille both came off the bench to contribute 10 points apiece.

Terrance Carter led the way for JMU (13-17) with 15 points and six rebounds. Pierre Curtis and Abdulai Jalloh tallied 12 and 10 points, respectively for the 11th-seeded Dukes.

The Huskies shot a strong 54.2 percent from the field in the first half and went into the break with a solid, 38-25 lead.

Northeastern continued its hot shooting in the second stanza, netting 50.0 percent of its attempts from the floor en route to the 18-point victory.

The Huskies made 8-of-17 attempts from long range in the contest, while James Madison connected on just 3-of-11 three-point shots.

Northeastern will now move on to the quarterfinal round to take on the third- seeded George Mason Patriots.

Hasheem Thabeet scored 21 points, hauled in 18 rebounds and had four blocks to help the No. 2 Connecticut Huskies fend off the Buffalo Bulls, 68-64, at Alumni Arena. Jeff Adrien poured in 18 points, grabbed seven boards and doled out four assists for the Huskies (8-0), who will next play Stony Brook at home on December 15. Craig Austrie chipped in 10 points in the win. Rodney Pierce had a game-high 28 points for the Bulls (3-3), who will host Florida International on Saturday. Max Boudreau was the only other Bull in double figures, with 10 points.
