Albany, NY -- (Sports Network) - Alex Franklin posted 26 points and nine rebounds to lead the top-seeded Siena Saints to a 66-58 victory over the eighth-seeded Manhattan Jaspers in the quarterfinal round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament. Edwin Ubiles tallied 12 points for Siena (20-10), which advances to the semifinal round to take on fourth-seeded Loyola-Maryland on Sunday. Ronald Moore added 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Saints. Devon Austin posted 17 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Manhattan (12-19), which got 10 points apiece from Antoine Pearson and Chris Smith. Manhattan held a narrow lead early, but Siena then took control and owned a 32-23 advantage at intermission. The Saints never relinquished the lead in the second half, as strong free throw shooting down the stretch enabled them to hold off the Jaspers. Siena avenged a 73-72 loss to Manhattan during the regular season in the most recent meeting between the teams.
