NCAA Game Summary - Loyola-Maryland Vs. Siena

Albany, NY -- (Sports Network) - Josh Duell's only two points of the contest came in the final minute of regulation and gave the top-seeded Siena Saints a thrilling, 65-63 victory over the fourth-seeded Loyola-Maryland Greyhounds. Alex Franklin posted a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds for Siena (21-10), which overcame a 17-point deficit to move into the MAAC title game. Kenny Hasbrouck added 17 points, while Edwin Ubiles and Ronald Moore contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively. Omari Isreal tallied 12 points and pulled down an impressive 18 caroms for Loyola-MD (19-14), while Marquis Sullivan led the way with 14 points. Michael Tuck and Gerald Brown both chipped in 13 points apiece for the Greyhounds. Loyola used a tremendous 29-7 run in the first half and limited Siena to a mere 35.7 percent shooting effort from the floor to take a 38-28 lead into the break. However, the Saints stormed back in the second stanza, chipping away at that large deficit with a 50.0 percent shooting effort, which helped lead the team to a two-point victory. Siena was dominated on the glass by a 40-33 margin, but was still able to outscore Loyola in the paint, 36-22. The Saints will now take part in the MAAC Championship on Monday night, and will face the second-seeded Rider Broncs.
