NCAA Game Summary - Penn At Princeton

Tuesday, March 11, 2008

(Sports Network) - Jack Eggleston scored a game-high 15 points as the Penn Quakers posted a 60-47 win over the Princeton Tigers in Ivy League action at Jadwin Gym.

Also scoring in double figures for the Quakers (13-18, 8-6 Ivy), as they won their second straight to close out the season, were Tyler Bernardini and Brian Grandieri with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Tigers (6-23, 3-11), losers of two in a row and 11 of the last 12 outings, were paced by Zach Finley with 13 points off the bench, followed by Jason Briggs and Noah Savage with 10 points apiece.

Penn missed all three opportunities behind the three-point line in the first half and was outscored at the charity stripe 10-3, yet still maintained a 29-25 advantage at the break.

In the second half the Quakers turned the tables on Princeton at the free-throw line, outscoring the home team 10-1 at the line to cruise to the 13-point win in the season finale.

Princeton hurt itself with just 11-of-21 shooting at the stripe and a total of 20 turnovers, which Penn traded in for 20 points on the night.
