Charleston, SC -- (Sports Network) - Antwaine Wiggins led four Cougars in double- figures with 13 points, as the College of Charleston cruised to a 66-48 victory over The Citadel in first round action of the Southern Conference Tournament. Charleston (15-16), the sixth seed in the tournament, received 12 points from Andrew Goudelock and 10 points apiece from Tony White Jr. and Donavan Monroe. Jermaine Johnson led the way of the glass by collecting a game-high 13 rebounds to go along with seven points. Austin Dahn sunk 4-of-6 from behind the arc for a game-high 17 points, but it wasn't enough for the 11th-seeded Bulldogs (6-24). Cameron Wells had a rough shooting night, hitting just 5-of-16 from the floor for 10 points in defeat. The game was competitive for a half, as both teams netted five trifectas with Charleston hitting a few more from the charity stripe to lead, 34-31 at halftime. The Cougars maintained its shooting touch throughout the rest of the game, and their defense held the Bulldogs to just seven second half field goals in the 18-point romp. The victory concluded a three-game sweep for Charleston, who now battles against third-seeded Georgia Southern in the next round of the SoCon Tournament.
