Atlantic City, NJ -- (Sports Network) - Leemire Goldwire scored 24 points and Lamont Mack added 23 and nine rebounds, as the sixth-seeded Charlotte 49ers rallied for a 69-65 win over the third-seeded Massachusetts Minutemen in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament at Boardwalk Hall.

Charlie Coley recorded a double-double with 14 points and 17 rebounds for the 49ers (20-12), who have now racked up five straight wins and will face second- seeded Temple in the semifinals Friday at 9 p.m.

Gary Forbes and Etienne Brower each collected 14 points and eight rebounds for UMass (21-10). Chris Lowe chipped in with 12 points, and Ricky Harris finished with 11.

Charlotte shot just 22.9 percent from the floor and went 1-of-10 from the perimeter in the first half. Meanwhile, the Minutemen buried 7-of-13 from beyond the arc, including six straight at one point, to take a commanding, 36-19 lead at intermission.

As quickly as they built their lead, the Minutemen watched it evaporate on a three-pointer by Mack that put Charlotte ahead, 48-47 with 11:24 to play in regulation. But Charlotte then went nearly seven minutes without a field goal, until Goldwire put the 49ers on his back by nailing three trifectas in the final three-minutes, including the final dagger with 20 seconds to play.

Charlotte overcame a brutal 35.8-percent shooting performance in part by going 9-of-14 from three-point range in the second half, and in part by holding a 52-29 rebounding advantage for the game. The 49ers held a 26-6 edge in second- chance points.
