NCAA Game Summary - Colgate At Marist

Poughkeepsie, NY -- (Sports Network) - Will Whittington netted a game-high 15 points as the Marist Red Foxes knocked off the Colgate Raiders, 63-47, in BracketBuster action from the McCann Center. Whittington connected on 5-of-12 shots from three-point range for Marist (21-7), which won its sixth game in a row. Ryan Stilphen and Wilfred Benjamin added 12 points apiece, while James Smith ripped down 11 caroms in the win. Colgate (9-17) was guided by the 10-point effort of Jon Simon, who connected on 4-of-13 shots from the floor. Marist shot a solid 46.2 percent from the field in the first half and took a 31-27 lead into the intermission. As for the second half, the Red Foxes limited Colgate to just 29.2 percent shooting from the field, as they pulled away for the 16-point victory. Marist won the battle on the boards, 40-26, including an 11-6 edge on the offensive glass. The 47 points allowed by Marist were the fewest by the program since a 72-47 victory against Delaware State during the 1999 Pepsi Marist Classic.
