NCAA Game Summary - New Mexico At Colorado State

Fort Collins, CO -- (Sports Network) - Daniel Faris scored 15 points to lead the New Mexico Lobos to a 71-52 victory over the Colorado State Rams in Mountain West Conference action. J.R. Giddens netted 13 points and clinched the league's scoring title for New Mexico (24-7, 11-5 MWC). Chad Toppert posted 14 points for the Lobos. Josh Simmons netted 12 points in the loss for Colorado State (6-24, 0-16), which has lost its last 17 games, a school record. New Mexico State scored nine unanswered points late in the first half en route to a 39-30 lead at intermission. The Lobos controlled the tempo in the second half and cruised to the 19-point triumph. The 24 wins by New Mexico ties a regular season school record. The Lobos will be the third seed in the upcoming Mountain West Conference Tournament, while the Rams will take on Wyoming in the play-in game.
