NCAA Game Summary - Cornell At Penn

Philadelphia, PA -- (Sports Network) - Cornell snapped a 19-game losing skid at the Palestra, as Louis Dale's 24-point performance led the Big Red to a thrilling, 94-92 victory over the Penn Quakers in Ivy league action. Adam Gore added 19 points for Cornell (21-5, 13-0), which set a school record for most wins in a season. Ryan Wittman and Alex Tyler contributed 17 and 16 points, respectively, while Jeff Foote posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Tyler Bernardini scored 25 points for Penn (11-18, 6-6), while Brian Grandieri tallied 21 points to go along with seven rebounds. Harrison Gaines chipped in 19 points and dished out six assists in the losing effort. Penn shot a strong 55.2 percent from the field in the first half, but Cornell connected on 48.4 percent of its attempts from the floor and also made six trifectas to send the game into the break tied at 44 apiece. The Big Red shot 43.8 percent from the field in the second stanza, but used a 19-of-24 effort from the foul line to claim the two-point win. Cornell finished the night with a 27-of-34 clip from the charity stripe, while Penn made just 19-of-23 shots from the foul line. With the victory Cornell completed a season sweep of the Quakers for the first time since the 1988-89 season.
