GAME NOTES: The Columbia Lions play their final home game of the season tonight as they host fellow Ivy League squad Dartmouth at Levien Gym. Last night, the Lions entertained Harvard and captured a 61-54 victory, the team's second in a row and the sixth in the last seven contests. With the triumph, Columbia moved to 8-5 at home and is now 7-4 in conference, with road dates versus Princeton and Penn on the schedule for next week to close out the regular season. As for the Big Green, they lost for the eighth time in nine games last night with a 75-59 setback to Cornell in Ithaca, allowing the Big Red to gain at least a share of the Ivy League title. Columbia won the first meeting of the season against the Big Green with a 59-50 triumph in New Hampshire last month, which means the Lions now lead the all-time series by a count of 101-92.

Elgin Fitzgerald made seven of his 17 shots from the field on Friday night, finishing with a team-best 15 points, yet the Big Green still came up with a big loss versus Cornell on the road. DeVon Mosley chipped in 11 points as the squad shot just 39.3 percent from the field and was completely dominated on the glass, 48-28. Alex Barnett, who led the group with his seven rebounds last night, is the top scorer for Dartmouth with 15.7 ppg over the course of his 24 starts. As someone who tries to do a little bit of everything for the Big Green, Barnett also paces the program both on the glass (7.1 rpg) and in playmaking (51 assists). Scoring 63.5 ppg overall this season, Dartmouth has watched that average dip to 60.2 ppg versus the rest of the Ivy, while permitting league foes to come up with 71.3 ppg.

Missing all nine three-point chances in the first half, the Lions actually allowed Harvard to move out to a 13-point lead early in the frame, but that was before the hosts secured the comeback win. Ben Nwachukwu made good on 10-of-12 from the floor to finish with a double-double consisting of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while John Baumann had a double-double of his own with 18 points and 10 boards as well. The only double-digit scorer on the roster at the moment, Baumann is responsible for a team-best 15.9 ppg as a 51.3 percent shooter from the field. A starter in all 26 games this season, Baumann also paces the group with his 6.9 rpg and has reaped the benefits at the free-throw line (110- of-146) during that time as well. The team is shooting a collective 41.9 percent from the field at the moment, which leads to 64.1 ppg, while allowing opponents to generate 63.5 ppg.

Finding it tough enough to come up with any wins recently, to expect the Big Green to be a tough matchup on the road for the second straight night would be asking a lot.

Predicted Outcome

Columbia 66, Dartmouth 56
