Duke's Henderson, Thomas Undergo Surgery

POSTED: 6:28 pm EDT April 1, 2008

(Sports Network) - Duke guard Gerald Henderson and forward Lance Thomas both had successful surgeries done on their injured hands on Tuesday.

Henderson had reconstructive surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right wrist, an injury suffered in Duke's 89-78 win over North Carolina on February 6. He played the final 13 games of the season and finished the year third on the Blue Devils in scoring and rebounding with 12.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game.

Thomas had a tendon tear on the pinky finger of his right hand repaired. He started 28 games for the Blue Devils last season, posting 4.3 points and 3.3 boards per game.

Henderson is expected to be sidelined 12 to 16 weeks, while Thomas will be on the shelf from eight to 10 weeks.
