FAMU's Gillespie Placed On Leave After Arrest

Tallahassee, FL -- (Sports Network) - Florida A&M men's basketball coach Mike Gillespie Sr. has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school following his arrest last week.According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Gillespie was arrested last Friday on a misdemeanor stalking charge. The paper said he was released on $1,000 bail later that evening provided that he wears a tracking device and avoids the woman who filed a complaint. "Coach Gillespie has been placed on paid administrative leave until such time that the pending criminal charges have been resolved," said FAMU athletic director Nelson Townsend in a release Wednesday morning. Gillespie just completed his sixth season with the school and guided the Rattlers to a record of 21-14 with a MEAC championship last season. FAMU played the opening round game of the NCAA Tournament and dropped a 77-69 decision to Niagara.
