Boca Raton, FL -- (Sports Network) - Courtney Lee poured in a game-high 29 points to lead the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to a regular season-ending 88-78 conquest of the Florida Atlantic Owls in a Sun Belt Conference tussle at The FAU Arena. Tyrone Brazelton and A.J. Slaughter each sunk four three-pointers for the Hilltoppers (24-6, 16-2 SBC), with Brazelton dropping 22 points and Slaughter finishing with 15. In their home finale, the Owls (14-17, 8-10) were led by Paul Graham III's 17 bench points. Carlos Monroe added 15 points and nine rebounds, and Carderro Nwoji posted 16 points in a losing cause. In a hotly contested first half, WKU managed to make it to the foul line frequently, as its 14-of-17 performance at the stripe allowed the Hilltoppers to take a 47-44 lead at halftime. The Hilltoppers' defense shut down FAU in the final 20 minutes, holding the Owls to seven field goals and zero three-pointers in the 10-point victory. With the win, the Hilltoppers tied for the top spot of the Sun Belt Conference. However, South Alabama swept WKU during the regular season, therefor it earned the top seed in the upcoming league tournament.
