Furman Falls To College Of Charleston

Charleston, SC -- (Sports Network) - Dustin Scott notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, as the College of Charleston Cougars captured a 77-59 victory against the Furman Paladins in Southern Conference play at John Kresse Arena. Scott nailed 9-of-11 field goals, as the Cougars (14-16, 9-11 SoCon) won their third straight game. Tony White Jr. recorded 12 points and a pair of steals, and Jeremy Simmons chipped in with 10 points in the victory. George Brozos led Furman (7-22, 6-14) with a game-best 23 points and five boards. Justin Dehm posted 10 points, as the Paladins lost for the second time in three outings. The Cougars connected on 41.9 percent of their attempts from the floor in the first frame, opening a 33-30 lead at the half. In the second period, the CofC shot an even better 54.5 percent from the field, as it pulled away for the 18-point triumph. The Cougars forced Furman into 18 turnovers and they were able to generate 19 points off those miscues.
