GAME NOTES: Atlantic 10 action will take place this evening when the Charlotte 49ers host the George Washington Colonials at the Dale F. Halton Arena. The Colonials saw their small three-game winning skid come to an end this weekend, as GW fell to Xavier, 66-56. With the loss, the Colonials fell to 1-11 on the road and a meager 5-9 in league action. As for the 49ers, they grabbed an 89-82 victory over Duquesne this past Sunday. however, it was just the second victory in the last six games for Charlotte, which is an even 7-7 in A-10 play. The majority of the 49ers success has come at home, as the team is 12-3 at the Halton Arena. With regards to the all-time series between the two schools on the hardwood, the Colonials have a slim 9-7 lead, and that includes a three- game winning streak for GW.

The Colonials have had very little success offensively this season, and head into this contest netting a mere 63.5 ppg, while shooting only 41.5 percent from the field. Rob Diggs has been the top performer for GW all season and is currently posting 14.1 ppg to go along with a team-high 7.7 rpg. Wynton Witherspoon is contributing 11.0 ppg on the season, while grabbing 4.2 boards per matchup. The offensive woes for the Colonials continued over the weekend, as the team was defeated by Xavier, 66-56. In the 10-point loss, the Colonials shot 40.0 percent from the floor and made just 6-of-18 three-point attempts. Diggs paced the team with 19 points and eight boards, while Johnny Lee chipped in 14 points.

The 49ers put forth a tremendous offensive effort in their victory over Duquesne, as the team scored 89 points on a 456 percent shooting effort. Charlotte connected on 11 three-point attempts and posted a strong 24-of-35 clip from the foul line. Leemire Goldwire, who is leading the team with 18.4 ppg, scored 21 points in the win and also recorded five steals. Lamont Mack (12.6 ppg) added 19 points, while Charlie Coley and Ian Andersen tallied 16 and 13 points, respectively. Despite the overwhelming efforts offensively, the 49ers are still producing just a mediocre 70.6 ppg, while shooting a lackluster 40.4 percent from the field.

The 49ers have taken advantage of opponents' mistakes, and if Charlotte can force GW into a large amount of turnovers, expect a home victory for the 49ers.

Predicted Outcome

Charlotte 67, George Washington 65
