Atlanta, GA -- (Sports Network) - Leonard Mendez poured in a game-high 21 points to lead the Georgia State Panthers to a 79-63 victory over the Towson Tigers in a Colonial Athletic Association tussle at the GSU Sports Arena. Michael Moynihan tallied 13 points and dished out six assists in the win for Georgia State (9-19, 5-12 CAA), while Trae Goldston added 12 points. Deven Dickerson and Justin Billingslea netted 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Panthers. Tony Durant scored 18 points to lead Towson (11-17, 6-11), while C.C. Williams added 14 in the losing effort. Josh Thornton chipped in 13 points for the Tigers. Towson shot a mere 36.7 percent from the floor during the first period, and Georgia State led 38-27 at halftime. The Panthers connected on a blazing 60.0 percent of their attempts from the field during the second frame en route to the 16-point victory. The Tigers shot just 43.5 percent from the floor in the clash, including 6- of-22 from long range in the loss.
