College Park, MD -- (Sports Network) - Mike Freeman poured in 23 points as the Hampton Pirates edged the New Orleans Privateers, 74-73, in the regional consolation game of the 2K Sports College Hoops Classic, benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer.

Rashad West added 21 points for the Pirates (1-1), who bounced back from a 102-75 season-opening loss to the Maryland Terrapins, the host of this regional event.

Bo McCalebb scored a game-high 28 points to go along with seven rebounds for the Privateers (0-2), who are still searching for Buzz Williams' first victory as head coach.

With four seconds left in regulation, Jamie McNeilly drained a trey and was fouled on the play, giving New Orleans a chance to force the game into overtime. However, McNeilly was unable to convert the free throw and Hampton held on for the win.
