NCAA Game Summary - Jacksonville State At Eastern Illinois

Charleston, IL -- (Sports Network) - Jake Byrne scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Eastern Illinois Panthers to an 80-64 win over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in Ohio Valley Conference action at Lantz Arena. EIU (6-22, 5-14 OVC) also received 21 points from Tyler Laser, while Ousmane Cisse tallied 12 points and nine rebounds. Jon'Tee Willhite ran the show for the Panthers tallying 11 assists in the win. JSU (6-22, 4-15) was led by Will Ginn who tallied 15 points and six assists in the loss. Erik Adams also got involved, scoring 13 points off the bench. EIU took control in the first half, shooting 52.0 percent from the field, to take a 32-30 lead at the break. The Panthers put the game away in the second stanza, shooting 17-of-24 from the floor, en route to a 16-point victory. The Panthers dominated JSU in the post, outscoring the Gamecocks 42-16 in the paint.
