NCAA Game Summary - Lipscomb Vs. San Jose State

(Sports Network) - Eddie Ard scored 19 points to lead the Lipscomb Bisons to a 79-72 victory over the San Jose State Spartans in the First Shot Exempt Tournament at the Murphy Center.

Josh Slater added 18 points for Lipscomb (1-4), while Michael Lusk tallied 11 points for the Bisons. LaKory Daniels tallied 10 points, while Brandon Brown chipped in eight points, and collected a team-high 11 rebounds.

C. J. Webster posted a double-double for SJSU (2-1), netting 19 points, while grabbing 15 rebounds. Jamon Hill chipped in 10 points in the loss.

The Spartans shot 46.9 percent from the field in the first half and connected on 13-of-15 attempts from the foul line. The strong offensive showing was the main reason for the 46-37 San Jose State halftime lead.

The Bisons stormed back in the second stanza, shooting 54.2 percent from the field en route to the seven-point win.

The Bisons only committed seven turnovers in the contest, while the Spartans committed 14 miscues.
