NCAA Game Summary - Manhattan At Iona

(Sports Network) - Devon Clarke scored 16 points to lead the Iona Gaels to an 87-75 victory over the Manhattan Jaspers in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at the Hynes Athletics Center.

John Kelly added 14 points and grabbed eight boards for Iona (12-18, 8-9 MAAC), while Gary Springer and Dexter Gray contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Antoine Pearson netted 15 points for Iona (11-17, 5-12), while Chris Smith tallied 13 points in the loss. Devon Austin posted 12 points, and Darryl Crawford chipped in 10 points off the bench for Manhattan, which closed out its regular season with three consecutive losses.

The Jaspers went into the break with a 47-41 lead, thanks to a 51.6 percent shooting effort from the field, which included a 6-of-15 clip from behind the arc.

The Gaels stormed back in the second stanza, shooting a staggering 55.2 percent from the floor, while also connected on all 12 of their free throw attempts en route to the 12-point win.

Iona won the battle on the glass, 35-24, and outscored Manhattan in the paint by 28 points.
