No. 4 Washington State Waxes Overmatched NC A&T

Pullman, WA -- (Sports Network) - Derrick Low scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, as fourth-ranked Washington State pummeled the Aggies from North Carolina A&T, 67-34, at Friel Court.Aron Baynes netted 10 and grabbed eight boards for the Cougars (12-0), who are off to their best start since the 1991-92 campaign, when the club opened the season with 12 straight wins. The 1914-15 squad started the season 17-0. Caleb Forrest registered eight points and seven rebounds. No player reached double figures for North Carolina A&T (5-8), which has lost four straight and six of its last seven. Steven Rush led the team with eight points. The Cougars scored the first five points, but a trey by Rush followed by a Jason Wills lay-in knotted the game at five. Washington State then went on a 12-0 run to go ahead 17-5. Baynes extended the lead to 21-7 with consecutive dunks. Washington State held a comfortable 33-12 cushion at the break. Washington State made its first nine shots in the second half as part of 20-4 spurt, to pull away to 53-16, and cruised to the finish. Game Notes Friday's contest marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs...The Cougars shot 47.3 percent from the floor, while holding the Aggies to 25.5 percent...Washington State won a close battle on the glass, 36-35...The Cougars defense forced 19 turnovers, including 13 steals.
