NCAA Game Summary - Northern Illinois At Ball State

(Sports Network) - Anthony Newell poured in 23 points and snared six rebounds, as the Ball State Cardinals outlasted the Northern Illinois Huskies, 69-63, in Mid-American Conference action at Worthen Arena.

Peyton Stovall registered a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Ball State (6-22, 5-10 MAC), while Laron Frazier chipped in with 10 points.

Darion Anderson headed the charge for Northern Illinois (6-20, 3-11) with a game-high 24 points and seven rebounds.

The Cardinals drilled 5-of-11 attempts from downtown and 5-of-6 at the foul in the first half, posting a 32-30 edge at halftime.

In the second frame, Ball State shot 45.2 percent from the field, as it secured the six-point win.

The Cardinals forced the Huskies into 16 turnovers, while committing just three miscues themselves.
