(Sports Network) - Eric Coleman's 22 points and 10 rebounds were key for the sixth-seeded Northern Iowa Panthers' 54-49 victory over the third- seeded Southern Illinois Salukis in quarterfinal action of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament at the Scottrade Center.

Adam Viet added 19 points for UNI (18-13), which will now take on the second- seeded Illinois State Redbirds in the semifinal-round this Saturday.

Matt Shaw scored 22 points and pulled down nine caroms for SIU (17-14), while Joshua Bone chipped in 10 points in the losing effort.

Despite shooting just 36.8 percent from the floor in the first half, the Salukis went into the break with a slim 22-20 lead.

The Panthers clawed their way back in the second stanza, shooting 47.1 percent from the field, while also connecting on 15-of-20 attempts from the foul line en route to the five-point win.

UNI made 18-of-26 shots from the foul line in the contest, and limited the Salukis to a meager 38.5 percent shooting effort from the field.
