Friars' Williams To Transfer

(Sports Network) - Providence Friars guard Dwain Williams decided on Tuesday to transfer to Oregon State.

Williams completed his second season by averaging 11.0 points and 2.3 assists per game, shooting better than 40 percent from three-point range and over 90 percent from the free-throw line.

Also in his sophomore season, Williams compiled 13.0 points and 2.1 assists per contest in Big East action, appearing in 21 games (17 starts), scoring in double figures on 10 occasions. He posted a career-best 23 points against UConn on January 17.

The native of San Diego has two more years of eligibility remaining once he sits out the upcoming season as per NCAA transfer guidelines.
