GAME NOTES: A pair of teams hoping to post a third win on the season meet at The Palestra today, as the Howard Bison tangle with the Robert Morris Colonials in the final round of the Philly Hoop Group Classic. The Bison enter the game on a low note, as it suffered a 73-58 setback to Loyola-Maryland yesterday at The Palestra. The win snapped the team's brief two-game win streak and dropped it to 2-3 on the young season. As for Robert Morris, it also found itself on the losing end of this event on Friday, dropping a 56-40 decision to Drexel. It was the second straight loss for the Colonials following back-to-back wins to open the season. Robert Morris and Howard have met two previous times on the hardwood, with the Colonials winning both encounters.

The Bison shot a sub par 37.7 percent from the field, including a poor 2-of-13 showing from long range, as it suffered a 15-point loss to Loyola-MD yesterday. The team also had trouble hanging onto the ball, as it committed 18 turnovers in the setback. Eugene Myatt guided Howard with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Adam Walker added 14 points and six boards. On the year, Myatt has clearly been the team's most productive player, averaging 20.4 ppg behind 57.1 percent shooting from the field. As a team, though, Howard has struggled to slow down its opponents this season, allowing them to score 84.4 ppg.

The Colonials' shooting in Friday's loss was simply dreadful, as they hit on a horrendous 29.6 percent from the floor in a 26-point defeat to Drexel. The squad also struggled from long range (1-of-16) and at the foul line (7-of-19) and if that wasn't enough, the team also turned the ball over 21 times. Jeremy Chappell was averaging 20.3 ppg and 8.0 heading into yesterday's game, but he was held to just four points and six rebounds by Drexel. He did, however, record five steals, giving him 18 for the season. A.J. Jackson, who was the team's second leading scorer (17.0 ppg) going into last game, finished with just seven points a poor 3-of-12 shooting from the floor. Robert Morris, as a team, had been averaging a healthy 90.7 ppg, but last game it could only muster 40 points against Drexel's stingy defense.

Robert Morris appears to have a few more weapons than Howard and that should help it rebound with a win today.

Predicted Outcome

Robert Morris 78, Howard 70
