Newark, NJ -- (Sports Network) - Jaron Griffin scored 12 points to help lead the Rutgers Scarlet Knights to a 64-61 win over the Seton Hall Pirates in Big East Conference play at the Prudential Center.

Corey Chandler added 11 points on just 4-of-12 shooting from the floor for the Knights (11-20, 3-15 Big East) as they ended the season by snapping a nine-game slide.

The Pirates (17-14, 7-11), losers of three straight, were paced by Jeremy Hazell and his 19 points, followed by Brian Laing who recorded a double-double with 16 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, but shot only 5-of-16 from the floor in the setback.

Neither team shot the ball well in the first half, with Rutgers making a mere 6-of-23 chances on the way to a 34-23 deficit at the break.

In the second half it was Seton Hall that completely fell apart with just 26.7 percent from the floor and 1-of-6 beyond the arc, opening the door for the Scarlet Knights to come back and capture the hard-fought three-point decision.

The visitors held the Pirates to just 31.4 percent shooting from the floor and 7-of-25 beyond the arc, which helped Rutgers to overcome 22 turnovers on the day.
