San Diego, CA -- (Sports Network) - The University of San Diego extended the contract of head men's basketball coach Bill Grier.Terms weren't announced, but it replaces the original multi-year pact Grier signed when he became head coach at the school in March 2007. Grier, who has the Toreros heading to the NCAA Tournament, has compiled an overall mark of 21-13. San Diego is a No. 13 seed and will play Connecticut on Friday in Tampa. "I'm very appreciative of the opportunity here," said Grier. "I feel very blessed to be here. I'm equally appreciative of how the school has helped our staff, and how everyone welcomed me and my family. I'm certainly excited about our future here, and hopefully we can build off of this season." The Toreros, the reigning West Coast Conference tourney champs, enter the tournament having won five in a row and 13 of their last 15 games.
