Las Vegas, NV -- (Sports Network) - Jaret Von Rosenberg checked in from the bench and posted a career-high 31 points to lead the Hartford Hawks to a thrilling 80-72 overtime victory against the South Carolina State Bulldogs in the fifth- place game of the Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena. Joe Zeglinski netted 11 points in the Hartford (3-4) victory, and Warren McLendon chipped in 10 points while grabbing seven rebounds for the Hawks. Jason Flagler led South Carolina State (1-5) with 15 points to go with eight rebounds, and Julius Carter contributed 12 points off the bench. Jessie Burton and Carrio Bennett added 10 points apiece, while Jason Johnson chipped in nine points to go with a game-high 11 rebounds. SCSU had a slight 34-31 advantage at the end of the first half, shooting 42.9 percent from the floor during the stanza. The Hawks shot a solid 46.4 percent and went 5-for-11 from long range in the second half, however, and held the Bulldogs to a lackluster 39.3 percent effort from the field to battle back and force overtime. In the extra period, Hartford hit 42.9 percent from the floor and went 6-for-6 at the foul line while keeping SCSU in check with a 28.6 field goal percentage en route to the eight-point win.
