Coral Gables, FL -- (Sports Network) - Brian Asbury scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead 22nd-ranked Miami-Florida over Stetson, 89-53, at BankUnited Center. Raymond Hicks added 15 points and six boards and James Dews tallied 14 points for the Hurricanes (10-0), who celebrated being ranked for the first time since 2002 with their 10th straight win. Miami was voted into the Associated Press Top-25 poll earlier in the day. Eric Diaz scored 13 points to lead the Hatters (2-8), who have dropped four in a row. Miami scored 19 of the first 23 points of the game to jump ahead and take control. Hicks' jumper ended the run with 13:26 left in the half. The Hurricanes continued to hold a double-digit lead the rest of the way, extending to a 40-19 cushion after a Dwayne Collins bucket with 23 seconds left in the half. Miami cruised into the break with a 42-25 and the lead hit 30 points, 74-42, for the first time when Asbury drained a three-pointer with just over 8 1/2 minutes left in the game. The Hurricanes then cruised to the finish.Game Notes:Miami leads the all-time series 45-33, winning five straight...Stetson last beat the Hurricanes in 1971...Jack McClinton had 12 points and Collins tallied 10 for Miami...Mark Lohuis and Sheldon Oliver had 10 each for the Hatters.
