South Bend, IN -- (Sports Network) - Russell Carter poured in 23 points behind the strength of seven three-pointers, as the 19th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish bested the Stony Brook Seawolves, 95-66.

Colin Falls added 17 points and hit five treys, while Rob Kurz had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Irish (12-1), who have won 11 straight games for the first time since the 1986-87 season. Kurz ended 11-of-14 from the free throw line.

Luke Harangody donated 12 points for a Notre Dame team that hit on over 50 percent from long range (15-of-28) while converting 16-of-32 from the free throw line.

The Irish were without guard Kyle McAlarney, who was suspended for the game by the school after being arrested Friday on a marijuana possession charge.

Mitchell Beauford and Mike Popoko each had 14 points for the Seawolves (5-7), who have never beaten a Division I opponent in five tries. Popoko also had six rebounds and a pair of blocks.

While Stony Brook hit just four fewer shots than Notre Dame from the field overall, it hit on 10 less shots from behind the arc and had gotten to the line just five times in the first half.

Notre Dame began to pull away midway through the first half as three straight free throws by Zach Hillesland put his club up 21-14. Then after a free throw by Solomon Bamiro, the Irish then rattled off nine straight to go ahead 30-15 with 9:18 remaining.

Kurz hit a trio of free throws during the run, while Falls and Ryan Ayers converted from behind the arc. The Irish later carried a 43-28 edge into the break.

A 13-0 run by the Irish upped their lead to over 20 in the second half. Carter started the burst on a three-pointer with 15:07 remaining and Harangody's three-point play put Notre Dame ahead 57-37.

A trey from Falls capped the burst and made it 62-37 with 11:49 to go and Notre Dame's lead grew to as many as 30 down the stretch.

Notre Dame hit 51 percent from the floor, while Stony Brook finished at a 43 percent clip...The Irish won the rebounding battle, 38-26...Bamiro and Ricky Lucas both had seven points in the loss...Luke Zeller had eight points for the Irish...Notre Dame improved to 10-0 at home and has yet to play a true road game. The Irish will travel into enemy territory for the first time on January 6 at Georgetown. Notre Dame is 2-1 this year on neutral sites.
