GAME NOTES: The second-seeded Murray State Racers host the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament tonight. The victor of this matchup will square off against either Samford or Tennessee-Martin in the semifinal round of Friday. The Racers enter the tourney on a high note, as they blasted Tennessee-Martin, 98-59, on Saturday. The win secured a second place finish for MSU, which went 13-7 in conference play during the regular season. The Racers are the most successful team in this event, winning the title an outstanding 13 times and going 55-29 all-time. As for TTU, it put an end to a three-game slide by defeating this MSU team, 71-66, on February 28th. The win put the Eagles in a four-way tie for fifth place at 10-10, but they were given the seventh seed after the tie-breaker scenario was worked out. TTU owns a poor 19-36 record in this event and it hasn't claimed the title since 1967. With regard to the all-time series, MSU holds a commanding 115-45 advantage over TTU, and the two teams swept a pair of meetings during the regular season.

The Eagles have had most of their success at the offensive end of the court, where they are averaging a solid 75.4 ppg on 45.7 percent shooting from the field. Anthony Fisher leads this attack with 16.8 ppg and he is also dishing out a team-best 3.4 apg. He has even been a factor on defense, posting a team- high 48 steals. Amadi McKenzie ranks second with 14.6 ppg and 8.4 rpg and he is shooting 59.5 percent from the floor. Daniel Northern nearly averages a double- double with 12.6 ppg and a team-high 9.1 rpg and he has also turned away 85 shots.

The Racers are on of the top shooting teams in the conference, as they are hitting on 49.1 percent of their attempts from the field, 38.0 percent from downtown and 73.0 percent at the foul line. With the efficient shooting, MSU has been able to produce 72.8 ppg as a team. Bruce Carter is the squad's leading scorer at 14.2 ppg and he is also dishing out 2.0 apg and grabbing 5.4 rpg. Danero Thomas is next in order at 12.2 ppg and 4.8 rpg and he has a team- high 42 steals to his credit. Tyler Holloway is one of the top three-point shooters around, hitting at a 47.8 percent clip, and he rounds out the double- digit scorers with 11.2 ppg.

MSU has been tough to beat at home and with an all-around team effort it should be able to continue that trend with a win tonight.
