A&M Freshman Jordan Will Test NBA Draft Waters

College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Texas A&M University center DeAndre Jordan announced Wednesday that he will submit his name into the 2008 NBA Draft, but will not sign with an agent.

Jordan, a 7-foot, 255-pounder from Houston, may return to school with his eligibility intact provided he withdraws his name from the draft by the NBA's June 16 deadline.

"I just want to test the waters and get a good feel for where I might be drafted," Jordan said.

As a freshman, Jordan averaged 7.9 points and a team-high six rebounds per game, while also blocking 44 shots and shooting nearly 62 percent from the floor. Under first-year coach Mark Turgeon, A&M finished 25-11 on the season and nearly upset top-seeded UCLA in the NCAA Tournament's second round.
