NCAA Game Summary - Delaware At Towson

Towson, MD -- (Sports Network) - Josh Thornton scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Towson Tigers to an 89-74 win over the Delaware Blue Hens in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Towson Center. All five starters scored in double figures for Towson, as C.C. Williams added 17 points and eight assists for the Tigers (12-17, 7-11 CAA), who clinched the ninth seed in the CAA Conference Tournament. Sean Raboin scored 13 points in the win, while Tony Durant tallied 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jonathan Pease also chipped in with 12 points. The Blue Hens (13-16, 9-9) were led by Alphonso Dawson, who scored 18 points on 7-of-20 shooting from the floor. Herb Courtney added 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Marc Egerson and Brian Johnson deposited 14 and 12 points, respectively. Towson stormed out of the locker room, shooting 53.3 percent from the field to take a 38-29 lead at the break. The Tigers kept the pressure on the second stanza, knocking down 6-of-13 three- point attempts and adding another 19 points at the foul line for the 15-point win. Foul shooting was the difference in this contest, as Towson outscored Delaware, 22-11 from the charity stripe. Towson was without leading-scorer Junior Hairston, who injured his back at Georgia State on Wednesday.
