Las Vegas, NV -- (Sports Network) - Wink Adams scored 20 points and collected eight rebounds to lead the second-seeded UNLV Runnin' Rebels to a 61-55 victory over the sixth-seeded Utah Runnin' Utes in semifinal action of the Mountain West Conference Tournament at the Thomas & Mack Center. Curtis Terry also added 20 points for UNLV (25-7), while Rene Rougeau posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Luke Nevill netted 15 points for Utah (17-14), while Lawrence Borha and Johnnie Bryant contributed 10 points apiece in the losing effort. Despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor in the first half, the Runnin' Rebels went into the break with a slim 25-24 edge. UNLV put forth a much stronger effort in the second stanza, shooting 47.8 percent from the field, while also connecting on 11-of-14 free throw attempts, en route to the six-point win. The Runnin' Rebels only committed five turnovers in the contest and won the battle on the glass by a 34-30 margin. With the victory, UNLV will now take on 24th-ranked and top-seeded BYU Cougars in the MWC Championship matchup.
