NCAA Game Summary - San Jose State Vs. Utah State

Las Cruces, NM -- (Sports Network) - Jaycee Carroll scored a game-high 24 points to lead top-seeded Utah State Aggies to an 85-65 win over the eighth-seeded San Jose State Spartans in quarterfinal action of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. Tyler Newbold also added 19 points for the Aggies (23-9), who will take fourth-seeded Boise State in tomorrow night's semifinal round. Tai Wesley and Gary Wilkinson also got involved, each tallying 15 points and nine rebounds in the win. SJSU (13-18) was paced by C.J. Webster and DaShawn Wright who each netted 16 points in a losing effort. Utah State shot 53.6 percent from the floor in the first half and took a 39-27 lead at the break. The Aggies pulled away in the second stanza, knocking down 18-of-31 field goals attempts en route to the 20-point victory. Three-point shooting proved to be the difference in this contest, as the Aggies outscored the Spartans 30-6 from long distance.
