GAME NOTES: Two teams in desperate need of a victory will collide this evening, as the Yale Bulldogs host the Princeton Tigers at the John J. Lee Amphitheater. The Tigers have fallen on hard times, losing eight consecutive games, plummeting in the Ivy league standings to just 2-9 on the year. The last time the squad was on the floor the team suffered a 64-57 loss to Brown. Princeton has been dreadful on the road, losing all 12 of its games away from home. As for the Bulldogs, they have lost their last four games, including a 70-63 loss to Penn on Friday. Yale has struggled in league action, posting a mere 4-7 mark. However, the Bulldogs have enjoyed some success at home, grabbing seven wins in 12 games at the Amphitheater. In terms of the all-time series between the two schools on the hardwood, the Tigers have a commanding, 138-79 lead over Yale. However, the Bulldogs have won the last three meetings, including a 67-56 win earlier this year.

The Tigers have been unable to strike fear into the opposition with their play offensively, as the squad is netting just 57.1 ppg, while shooting 42.5 percent from the floor. Zach Finley is the only player netting double figures for Princeton, as the forward is posting 10.3 ppg to go along with 4.6 rpg and a team-high 26 blocks. Princeton's offensive woes continued last night, as the squad fell to Brown, 64-57. In the loss, the Tigers shot 40.4 percent from the floor and made just 6-of-21 attempts from long range. Noah Savage and Nick Lake both posted 16 points in the loss, while Finley chipped in only eight points.

The Bulldogs have had more success at the offensive end of the floor when compared to their counterpart. However, at the same time, Yale has endured some troublesome periods this year, and is currently producing just 68.8 ppg. Eric Flato is pacing the team with 12.2 ppg on the season, while Ross Morin has led the way in the paint with 10.5 ppg and 5.6 rpg. Caleb Holmes rounds out the double-figure scorers with 10.2 ppg. Last night, the Bulldogs struggled offensively, scoring just 63 points in a loss to Penn. In the setback, Yale shot 38.5 percent and made just 7-of-20 three-point attempts. Morin tallied 16 points and collected nine caroms, while Holmes also contributed 16 points. As for Flato, he made 4-of-11 shots, finishing the game with 13 points.

The Bulldogs have more reliable scoring options and considering Princeton is winless on the road, this should be an easy win for Yale.

Predicted Outcome

Yale 67, Princeton 62
