NCAA Game Summary - Oklahoma State At Baylor

Sunday, November 18, 2007

(Sports Network) - Zac Robinson threw for two touchdowns and ran for another pair in leading the Oklahoma State Cowboys to a commanding 45-14 win over the Baylor Bears in Big 12 Conference action at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Robinson converted 16-of-21 passing for the Cowboys (6-5, 4-3 Big 12) finishing with 202 yards through the air. He also carried the ball 17 times for an additional 144 yards for the squad.

The Bears (3-9, 0-9) were paced by Blake Szymanski who converted 29-of-40 for 226 yards and a pair of scores, but he also threw two interceptions and was sacked four times in the setback.

Seth Newton reeled in a 30-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to account for the only scoring in the first quarter. OSU moved out to a 14-0 advantage in the second when Robinson kept the ball himself and rolled into the end zone from 18 yards out.

Baylor's first score of the night came at the 9:17 mark of the second when Szymanski found Thomas White with a six-yard TD strike to cut the deficit to 14-7.

A 24-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Tommy Devereaux was followed by a four-yard TD scamper by the signal-caller, making the score 28-7.

Just before the end of the half it was the combination of Szymanski and White once again, with the duo hooking up for a 28-yard scoring pass, leaving the Bears trailing at the break, 28-14.

A 27-yard field goal by Oklahoma State's Dan Bailey in the third was followed by touchdown runs of four and two yards by Dantrell Savage to close out the 31- point victory for the visitors.

"He handled the offense very well tonight," was how OSU head coach Mike Gundy referred to Robinson. "He's continued to play well for us and he continues to mature each week."

"He's a good quarterback," was Baylor head coach Guy Morriss's reaction to the play of Robinson. "He operates their offense pretty well. He has a good cast around him. He doesn't make a lot of mistakes even though we didn't pressure him much."

The Bears, who began 2007 with a 3-1 mark, lost eight straight to close out the campaign. The squad remains the only Big 12 program without a bowl appearance since the league's inception in 1996.
