Stanford, CA -- (Sports Network) - T.C. Ostrander threw for 151 yards and a touchdown as the Stanford Cardinal defeated the California Golden Bears, 20-13, in Pac-10 play. Ostrander completed 16-of-23 pass attempts for Stanford (4-8, 3-6 Pac-10), which snapped a five-game slide against Cal. Tavita Pritchard also saw time under center and he converted on 5-of-9 tosses for 45 yards and a score. Mark Bradford was the team's main target, as he pulled down five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. For Cal (6-6, 3-6), Nate Longshore threw for 252 yards and a touchdown on 22- of-47 throws, but he was also picked off twice. Robert Jordan caught four balls for 99 yards and a touchdown, as the Bears lost for the sixth time in their last seven games. Stanford opened the game's scoring with an Ostrander 28-yard touchdown pass to Bradford just over four minutes into the first quarter. Just over three minute later, Cal tied the score behind a 46-yard touchdown throw from Longshore to Jordan. The Cardinal regained the lead just over two minutes into the second quarter, as Derek Belch hit a 36-yard field goal. Once again though, the Bears knotted the score courtesy of a Jordan Kay 27-yard field goal. Belch connected on 38-yard field goal late in the first quarter and Stanford took a 13-10 lead into the half. Midway through the third quarter, the Cardinal extended its lead to 20-10 behind a Pritchard one-yard touchdown toss to Austin Gunder. Kay made good on a 42-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter, but Cal would get no closer in the 20-13 setback. Penalties played a bit part in this one, as the Bears committed 10 for 118 yards, while the Cardinal had five for just 30 yards.
