Giovanni Vizza led North Texas (2-10, 1-6) with 253 passing yards and one score in the loss. Vizza also tossed two interceptions and was sacked four times.

Less than two minutes into the contest the Mean Green took a 6-0 lead on a one yard run by Jamario Thomas. The extra point attempt by Thomas Moreland was unsuccessful.

Early in the second stanza the Golden Panthers took a slim 7-6 lead when Reams broke free for a 22-yard touchdown run.

UNT regain the lead midway through the second stanza when Micah Mosley broke the goal line on a one yard plunge. The Mean Green's two-point attempt was no good, leaving the score at 12-7.

Lionell Singleton returned the ensuing kick off 84 yards for the Golden Panthers, giving FIU a slim 14-12 advantage.

A 58-yard touchdown pass from McCall to Trenard Turner extended FIU's lead to 21-12.

The Golden Panthers pushed their lead to 28-12 when McCall hit Marquis Rolle with a 31-yard scoring strike.

Midway through the third frame Vizza connected with Brock Stickler on a seven- yard touchdown pass, cutting the Mean Green's deficit to 28-19.

Late in the third quarter McCall found Jeremy Dickens for a 23-yard scoring strike, extending the Golden Panthers' lead to 35-19.

A 28-yard field goal by Dustin Rivest early in the fourth frame closed the door on North Texas, as the Golden Panthers pushed their lead to 19 points and never looked back.
