Bearcats' Grutza Sustains Broken Leg In Loss To Sooners

Saturday, September 6, 2008

(Sports Network) - University of Cincinnati quarterback Dustin Grutza left in the fourth quarter of Saturday's 52-26 loss to the fourth- ranked Oklahoma Sooners with a fractured right fibula.

The injury occurred when the signal-caller was sacked by a host of Oklahoma defenders with 12:43 remaining in the contest. Grutza had to be wheeled off the field on a cart.

"It's a fracture. They didn't really give me an idea of how long I would be out," Grutza said. "Hopefully I can be back in three or four weeks and recover quickly. We have a great medical staff that can help me do that."

Grutza completed 19-of-29 passes for 218 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He also scored a rushing touchdown in the setback.
