NCAA Game Summary - T-C-U At Colorado State

Fort Collins, CO -- (Sports Network) - Marcus Jackson threw for 166 yards while running for 54 more to lead the TCU Horned Frogs to a 13-7 victory over the Colorado State Rams in a Mountain West Conference showdown at Hughes Stadium. The TCU signal-caller completed 16-of-26 pass attempts to pace the Horned Frogs (6-1, 3-0 MWC), while Joseph Turner and Aaron Brown combined for 71 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win. Kory Sperry grabbed six passes for 104 yards to lead Colorado State (3-3, 1-1) in the losing effort, but quarterbacks Klay Kubiak and Billy Farris combined for a mere 188 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions for the Rams. The Rams capped a nine-play, 78-yard opening drive with a four-yard plunge by Gartrell Johnson to take a 7-0 lead. TCU responded late in the period with a six-yard run by Brown. The Horned Frogs took a 13-7 lead midway through the second quarter following a three-yard scamper by Turner. Defense prevailed in the remainder of the contest for both teams, but TCU was able to hold on for the six-point victory.
