(Sports Network) - Pierre Walker rushed for 149 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a thrilling 48-45 victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas in a Mid-American Conference tilt at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Andy Schmitt threw for 212 yards and one touchdown in the win for EMU (4-8, 3-2 MAC), while also rushing for 61 yards and three more scores.

As for the Chippewas (6-5, 4-1), they were led by Dan LeFevour, who threw for 246 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 88 yards and three more scores. However, the ground game was led by Justin Hoskins, as the tailback rushed for 133 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagles opened the contest with an 11-play, 73-yard drive that was capped off by a one-yard plunge by Schmitt.

Eastern Michigan pushed its lead to 14-0 when Walker scampered into the end zone on a 17-yard run.

The Chippewas got on the scoreboard late in the first quarter when Andrew Aguila connected on a 21-yard field goal.

A 76-yard touchdown run by Hoskins in the final seconds of the first quarter brought the Chippewas deficit to 14-10.

Central Michigan took its first lead of the contest with a 26-yard run by LeFevour early in the second stanza.

The Eagles regained the lead midway through the second quarter when Schmitt hit DeAnthony White with a 28-yard touchdown pass.

On the next drive for CMU, the team used a 20-yard touchdown pass from LeFevour to Kito Poblah to take a 24-21 lead.

Less than two minutes into the second half LeFevour crossed the goal line on a five-yard run, giving the Chippewas a 31-21 edge.

The Eagles cut their deficit to 31-28 by using an 18-play, 74-yard drive that took just over nine minutes and finished with a one-yard run by Schmitt.

CMU wasted little time answering back, as the Chippewas took less than two minutes to find the end zone. Once again it was LeFevour on a run, this score coming from nine yards out.

Once again the Eagles used some clock, working a 16-play drive which lasted over six minutes long and finishing with Schmitt scampering into the end zone from three yards out.

With just under 10 minutes remaining in the contest Walker rumbled into the end zone on an 11 yard run, giving the Eagles a 42-38 lead.

Chippewas answered right back with a 12-yard touchdown run by Hoskins.

However EMU would get the last laugh, as Walker plunged into the end zone from one yard out, giving the Eagles a thrilling three-point victory.

Central Michigan totaled 447 yards in the contest, while the Eagles tacked up 411 total yards of offense.
