NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Michigan At Bowling Green

(Sports Network) - Andy Schmitt threw for 253 yards and a score to lead the Eastern Michigan Eagles to a 24-21 victory over the Bowling Green Falcons in a Mid-American Conference battle at Doyt Perry Stadium.

Schmitt completed an efficient 21-of-29 pass attempts to pace the Eastern Michigan (2-4, 1-2 MAC) offense and Jacory Stone grabbed six passes for 81 yards.

Tyler Sheehan threw for 297 yards and two touchdowns to lead Bowling Green (2-3, 0-1) in the losing effort.

The Falcons struck first as Sheehan found Jimmy Scheidler with a six- yard toss late in the first period of play.

The Eagles responded late in the second frame with a one-yard plunge from Terrence Blevins, knotting the score at 7-7 heading into the break.

Joe Carithers gave EMU a 10-7 lead with a 28-yard field goal early in the third quarter.

The Falcons responded minutes later, taking a 14-10 lead on a 46-yard pass from Sheehan to Adrian Hodges.

But Eastern Michigan regained the lead in the closing seconds of the frame, as Dwayne Priest broke a 12-yard TD run.

Sheehan gave BGSU the lead once more late in the final period of play with an eight-yard touchdown scamper.

But the Eagles found the end zone once again with under a minute remaining, a 15-yard strike from Schmitt to Tyler Jones to give Eastern Michigan a three- point advantage and the win on the road.
