NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana Tech At Idaho

Saturday, November 3, 2007

(Sports Network) - Patrick Jackson rushed for a game-high 150 yards on 26 carries, as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs defeated the Idaho Vandals, 28-16, in Western Athletic Conference play at the Kibbie Dome.

Jackson's touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in the game sealed the Bulldogs' (4-5, 3-3 WAC) come from behind win. Quarterback Zac Champion connected on 16-of-25 throws for 227 yards and a touchdown, as Louisiana Tech won its second game in a row. Phillip Livas caught three passes for 89 yards and a touchdown, while the Bulldogs' defense forced four turnovers and held the Vandals to just 285 total yards.

For the Vandals (1-9,0-6), quarterback Nathan Enderle was completely ineffective, hitting on only 16-of-48 pass attempts for 188 yards and three interceptions. Tino Amancio made all three of his field goal attempts for Idaho, which dropped its eighth game in a row.

The Bulldogs immediately made Idaho pay for its mistakes, as Ben McGilton returned an interception two yards for a touchdown just under three minutes into the game.

Amancio's 39-yard field goal made it a 7-3 game heading into the second quarter.

Daniel Porter extended Louisiana Tech's lead with a 10-yard scamper into the end zone midway through the second quarter.

Idaho's defense then got into the mix, as Josh Shaw recovered a fumble in the end zone, and it trailed just 14-10 at the break.

Two field goals by Amancio (34 and 24 yards) in the third quarter, gave the Vandals a 16-14 lead heading into the final frame.

Midway through the fourth quarter, Champion hooked up with Livas on a 70-yard scoring strike. The two-point conversion attempt was successful and the Bulldogs held a 22-16 advantage.

Jackson capped off a 12-play, 72-yard drive with an eight-yard touchdown run, as Louisiana Tech earned the 28-16 victory.

Louisiana Tech converted on 6-of-16 third down attempts, while Idaho made good on just 3-of-19 tries.
